During this 3-hr workshop artist Liz Navarro will introduce participants to basic hand building techniques to create and decorate your own Jarrito.
Durante esta clase de 3 horas, la artista Liz Navarro te guiará para crear y decorar tu propio Jarrito usando técnicas básicas de escultura de barro a mano.
Jarrito is a traditional mexican clay mug used for cold and hot drinks. Come and create your own version and get ready for that hot chocolate or michelada! Please note that this is open to people from all cultures as Liz will guide the class in English and Spanish.
Liz Navarro was born in Celaya, Guanajuato, Mexico, and lives and works in Los Angeles. She has given lectures at Glendale Community College, Long Beach Community College, and the first Undocuprofessionals Conference among others. Her work has been exhibited at the Craft Contemporary Museum in Los Angeles, Grand Central Art Center in Santa Ana, CA, Irvine Fine Arts Center in Irvine, CA, the Brea Gallery in Brea, CA, and Northern Clay Center in St. Paul, MN. She holds a BFA from California State University Long Beach.
