A Middle Eastern marketplace & community day in the spirit of Norouz, the Iranian New Year and Spring Equinox. We invite all to gather for art, food, and meaningful cultural activities rooted in resistance and solidarity. This year we honor lives lost across the globe with an interactive Haft Sin altar, our soffrenda.
POT is Iranian-woman founded and dedicated to preserving MENA cultures while community building. We offer a space for progressive Iranians and allies to reject bigotry within our communities and beyond, while coming together in solidarity to endure times of joy, grief, hope and everything in between. From Iran to Palestine to the Americas, it's women, life, freedom for all.
POT Bazaar mission
Our histories and celebrations have always existed inside larger struggles for dignity and freedom. Norouz is a holiday of resistance, persisting regardless of countless conquests attempting to eradicate our ancestral holidays. POT exists in this reality, with the Bazaar being a space for community togetherness and endurance. We keep traditions alive in solidarity with all communities impacted by colonialism, not as a form of nostalgia, but as an act of resistance.
