Wheel 2 [6 Weeks]
Wheel 2 [6 Weeks]
This 6-week level 2 continuation wheel throwing series will introduce helpful new wheel throwing techniques for anyone who's taken at least one wheel throwing series before. This series is beginner friendly, but students should have a basic understanding of centering, pulling walls, trimming and glazing.
Students will learn to throw bigger than 1lb, introduce new forms and shapes, make and attach handles, and discover new surface decorating and glazing techniques including underglazing.
This series is a survey of skills to get you thinking more confidently, intentionally, and creatively about wheel throwing, as well as working towards throwing independently.
For ages 13+. Students age 13-17 must be accompanied by guardian. All materials, firing and glazing included to take home pieces. This series is great for someone who wants to be a member.

I've taken Wheel 1 and 2 with Angel a few times. And every time I take their class, I learn something new, improve my skills, and have a good time doing it. Their patience and encouragement are key. If you ever add a wheel 3 class and Angel is teaching, I'm in!
Clarke is such a wonderful instructor and this class was perfect. We have a lot of agency to create what we want and I love that we get 2 lbs of clay to play with for each piece. I only took a couple of 2 hour sessions rather than a series so I was initially feeling behind, but Clarke really helped me feel comfortable and remember all the steps. I can’t wait to get my pieces back!
POT is such a welcoming space from the moment you walk in.
Angel is an amazing instructor: very patient, encouraging, and great at explaining techniques. He always says, “There’s nothing I can make on the wheel that you can’t,” and helps you make beautiful, functional things you only never thought you could. Also, his playlist is bomb!
This was my third class at POT with Angel and I've loved all of them. I love the collegial and collaborative atmosphere he creates. Will definitely be taking more classes at POT.
I took Wheel 1 and fell in love with ceramics so I decided to take Wheel 2. Our instructure Angel is a wealth of knowledge and also just an overall great vibe. altough there are closer studios to me I still drive 40 minutes to attend Pot Garden because its just a great atmosphere and I believe for creativity to flow at its best you in to be in the right environment.
