Level up your wheel throwing with this one-time, 4-hour skills clinic with Aram Guzman of Clay Queeries
This workshop is for students looking to refine their technique and gain greater control with larger amounts of clay and closed-form shapes, including spheres and bottles. Using 3–4 lbs of clay, students will practice the fundamentals of throwing closed forms, learning how to shape, refine, and troubleshoot common challenges in the process.

Wedging for closed forms
Understanding clay behavior with 3–4 lbs
Centering and controlling weight distribution
Throwing closed forms: spheres and bottles
Collaring and closing techniques
Avoiding collapse and maintaining even walls
Refining shapes and smoothing seams
Troubleshooting common issues with closed forms
Aram Guzman (Clay Queeries) is a designer, artist, and long time teacher and member at POT. His approach to teaching the potter's wheel is through extensive live demos, one-on-one guidance, and observation and correction, all while encouraging confidence in the student. Aram is excited to bring this skill-boosting clinic to POT to strengthen and broaden the skills of aspiring potters.
Who this class is for:Wheel 1 graduates or anyone with at least 4 weeks of wheel-throwing experience.
